RankLast weekFilmPlussesMinuses11Namastey LondonHimesh Reshammiya may have just one album in Top-10 today but a big enough consolation is the fact that it is ruling the charts. Not just a flash in the pan but a soundtrack that has slowly progressed up and has now cemented its place at the numero uno position for weeks, ‘Namastey London’ continues to do good business.None22Life In A ..MetroA flawless soundtrack, ‘Life In A…Metro’ has moved to the top quite quick. The challenging part though is to retain its position amidst all the competition! On these grounds, ‘Life In A…Metro’ has been doing amazing at the stands since it is just a spot short of reaching the top.It has some serious competition coming from the soundtrack of ‘The Train’36The TrainShowing remarkable progress towards the top, ‘The Train’ is in Top-3 within 10 days of its arrival on stands. Such kind of sales were last seen for albums like ‘Dhoom 2′, KANK, ‘Guru’ and ‘Don’ where an album managed to make such a huge impression within days of arrival.None43Guru’Guru’ has become a kind of album that would now sell for eternity. Its demand is consistent and even in the age of piracy and free downloads; an album maintaining consistent sales for around 6 months is quite remarkable. Even if it moves out of Top-10 in a few weeks time, ‘Guru’ would have a presence on the stands for years to come. ‘Ek Lo Ek Muft’ and ‘Baazi Laga’55Kya Love Story HaiManaging to hang on to its Top-5 position, all thanks to ‘It’s Rocking’, the least KLSH can be happy about is the fact that it would be remembered for it’s music. It’s a pity that the film has bombed otherwise Pritam’s music had good potential to spread it’s wings further for many more weeks64AnwarDoing a flip-flop in and out of the Top-5, ‘Anwar’ now finds itself at No. 6. Mithoon won’t really mind that it has moved out of Top-5 since it has only made space for his own creation - ‘The Train’. Most of the tracks by Pankaj Awasthi are harsh on ears79Ek Chalis Ki Last LocalShowing an improvement over last week by 2 spots, ECKLL shows decent sales in spite of promotion coming to a virtual standstill. One waits to see how long the album would be able to hang on since a lot would depend upon the eventual release of the film in mid-May.Since the movie has been postponed, it is always a challenging task to sustain the buzz and hype on the basis of a single track; in this case ‘Laaree Choote’810Ta Ra Rum PumAfter falling down by as many as 6 spots last week, TRRP manages to do some damage control by showing some improvement and getting to No. 8. It is in fact a surprise to see the album not picking up too well since the title track and ‘Hey Shona’ seemed to be chartbuster material! This is the first ever major film from YRF [remember ‘Fanaa’, ‘Dhoom 2′?] where a film’s soundtrack hasn’t found a place in Top-5 even on the eve of film’s release98Dhoom 2Sitting a spot below TRRP, sales of ‘Dhoom 2′ are now on the lower side and showing a constant decline. An excellent run of around 9 months is now coming to an end. With ‘Aap Ka Surroor’ expected to open huge and YRF’s own ‘Jhoom Baraabar Jhoom’ expected around mid-May, it’s time for ‘Dhoom 2′ to say goodbye!107Salaam-E-IshqStaring down the barrel once again after trying to show some fight at the charts last week, ‘Salaam E Ishq’ is now en route to exit doors. Shankar Ehsaan and Loy would now be looking forward to ‘Hey Baby’ in around 50 days time to make a comeback into the charts!NoneSource: Music Festival, MGF Mall
